Just for Smiles – heart partner of the Bol d’Or Mirabaud 2023
As the organiser of BOM 2023 announces in today’s newsletter, our Foundation will be present in the Rade de Genève as its heart partner during the weekend of the regatta on Lake Geneva. This is an opportunity to show our know-how and promote the inclusion of people with disabilities.
For the second time, the JUST for SMILES Foundation will participate in the Bol d’Or Mirabaud (BOM) as a ” heart partner” of the famous regatta, as the organisers of the race, which will take place from 9 to 11 June this year, announced in their newsletter.
For our foundation, this heartfelt partnership (which had to be postponed due to the pandemic in 2020 and 2021) is of great symbolic importance. This with regard to one of our most important tasks, i.e. promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities of all ages and their equal participation in civil society. Last year, for example, two of our young beneficiaries sailed at the BOM with Olympic sailing champion Shirley Robertson and the 2022 edition Sailing Squad coached by her (photo).
A logical partnership
Beyond the symbolic significance, our Heart partnership with the BOM is also logical. Because JUST for SMILES shares the passion for sailing with the participants and organisers of the regatta. Indeed, this sport is one of the most important activities we offer to our young and elderly beneficiaries having multiple disabilities or reduced mobility.
During the weekend of the legendary regatta, JUST for SMILES thus offers free excursions to the beneficiaries of institutions. An excellent way to show the general public our expertise in the field of adapted leisure activities.
More details about our participation in BOM 2023 will be announced soon. (ew)
